Dr Tiffany Hassen

is a Consultant General Surgeon, who sub-specialises in Bariatric (weight loss) Surgery. She completed her undergraduate degree (MBBS) at the University of Adelaide and also earned a Master of Surgery degree (MS), based on research in the field of Vascular Surgery, from the University of Adelaide whilst still training as a General Surgeon. Tiffany is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in General Surgery (FRACS), having been trained at all tertiary hospitals in South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Tiffany was employed as a Visiting General Surgeon in Whyalla, Port Lincoln and Mount Gambier Hospitals before undertaking sub-specialty training in Upper Gastro-intestinal Surgery at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She completed sub-speciality training in Bariatric Surgery in Sydney at St George Public Hospital and St George Private Hospital, and subsequently at Flinders Medical Centre and the Adelaide Bariatric Centre.

In addition to her current practice at Adelaide Bariatric Centre, she has also resumed her role as a Visiting General Surgeon in regional South Australia, regularly consulting and operating in Whyalla and contributing to the provision of General Surgery services at Port Lincoln Hospital.

Tiffany is focussed on providing personalised care for her patients in both fields of General Surgery and Bariatric Surgery. Tiffany has presented and published research at national and international levels. She is a member of General Surgeons Australia (GSA), the Australian & New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society (ANZMOSS) and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO).
